Singtel will be retiring its 3G network from 1 November 2024. You will need to upgrade your SIM card and/or your mobile phone to continue using voice, SMS and mobile data.

If you are still using a 3G SIM card or 3G mobile phone, you will no longer be able to use voice, SMS and data services.

If you are still on a 4G mobile phone which does not support VoLTE, you will no longer be able to use the phone for voice calls.

3G networks, which have been in use since 2005, are used by a very small number of users today. As we embrace 4G and 5G technologies to deliver superior network speeds and coverage, we will sunset our 3G services and help our subscribers migrate to a better mobile experience.

Look for a 3G network bar or 'H+' icon in the top-right corner of your mobile phone, AND you would have also received an SMS or mailer from Singtel to get you to upgrade your SIM.

If you have an older, incompatible phone, you would have received an SMS or mailer from Singtel to get you to upgrade your phone.
 
If you are holding on to:

• 3G-only phone, you will consistently see a 3G network bar or H+ in the top right corner of your mobile phone. Please upgrade your phone.


• 4G/5G VoLTE phone but still logged on to 3G network, please select 4G/5G mode on your phone.

Android: Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Mode​

iOS: Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Voice & Data

• 4G non VoLTE phone, you will not see an option to enable VoLTE after you go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Connections’ > ‘Mobile Networks’. Please upgrade your phone as you may not be able to make any voice calls.

To continue to enjoy connectivity after 3G closure , please select 4G/5G mode on your phone.​

Android: ​
Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Mode​


iOS:​
Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Voice & Data


If there is no option to select 4G/5G, you may be holding on to a 3G-only phone or non VoLTE phone. Please upgrade your phone to continue to enjoy connectivity. ​

You can make calls via 4G or 5G. However, you may not be able to call '999'. Please upgrade your phone to be able to enjoy full connectivity.
