Thanks to the Vaccinated Travel Framework (VTF) and its predecessor – Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL) – holidays are in season once more.

And with the loosening of travel restrictions in neighbouring countries, along with initiatives like the Batam-Bintan-Singapore travel bubble, you can now travel quarantine-free both ways as long as you are fully-vaccinated.

That’s great news, because there’s nothing like a quick vacation to chase away the blues. Looking to refresh your mind and soul over a long weekend holiday?

Here’s a list of quarantine-free destinations for that well-deserved break.

But first, what is the Vaccinated Travel Framework (VTF)?

The VTF allows all fully vaccinated travellers, including returning Singapore residents, to enter Singapore without having to take COVID-19 tests beforehand or undergo quarantine upon arrival.

4 quarantine-free destinations to travel to on VTF

No matter if you are a self-professed beach bum, a foodie, or looking for a wellness retreat to refresh your senses, there’s something for everyone. Here’s what you need to prepare for these four quarantine-free destinations.

1. Batam and Bintan, Indonesia

Fancy a weekend of golf and water sports? With the Batam-Bintan-Singapore travel bubble for fully vaccinated travellers, weekend trips are back on the cards.

All you have to do is:

1.     Prepare proof of vaccination. Pre-departure test is no longer required for fully vaccinated travellers, with effect from 18 May 2022.

2.     Get travel insurance with at least S$20,000 coverage against COVID-19.

3.     Download and register for Indonesia’s version of TraceTogether, the PeduliLindungi app.

4.     Complete the electronic-Health Alert Card (eHAC) on the PeduliLindungi app before departure.

2. Bangkok, Thailand

From 1 May 2022, visitors to Thailand no longer have to enter under the Test & Go scheme. With the easing of Bangkok travel restrictions, this means that you no longer need to book one night’s accommodation in an approved SHA+ hotel, or take a pre-departure or on-arrival PCR test.

Here’s what fully vaccinated travellers have to prepare:

1.     Prepare proof of vaccination

2.     Get travel insurance with at least US$10,000 coverage against COVID-19

3.     Apply for Thailand Pass: You will need your passport, confirmed flight itinerary, vaccination certificate and travel insurance to apply. Approval takes about 3 working days.

And that’s it! Reuniting with your favourite Michelin-starred restaurants has never been easier.

3. Bali, Indonesia

Whether you’re there for surfing, the laid-back cafes, or for a wellness retreat, Bali is a welcome oasis for those who are looking to unwind away from the bustle of city life.

Here’s how you can prepare for Bali travel restrictions before booking your trip:

1.     Prepare proof of vaccination

2.     Have a return flight booked

3.     Get travel insurance with at least S$20,000 coverage against COVID-19

4.     Download the PeduliLindungi app and complete the eHAC

There’s no pre-departure or on-arrival COVID-19 tests required nor any restrictions on accommodation for vaccinated travellers who are well, which simply equates to more time in your dream villa!

4. Malaysia

Whether it’s Kuala Lumpur (KL), Ipoh, Penang or Langkawi, as long as there’s a car, bus or flight to your destination in Malaysia, there’s nothing else that’s stopping you from visiting.

Since 24 March, travel restrictions between Singapore and Malaysia have been lifted completely for all vaccinated travellers. There’s no need for quarantine or COVID-19 tests unless you are not fully vaccinated.

If you are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, you’ll have to take a pre-departure PCR test 48 hours before departure and a supervised ART within 24 hours of arrival, as well as quarantine for 5 days.

Otherwise, all you need to do is fill up a pre-departure form on the MySejahtera app and prepare proof of your vaccination!

While travel requirements may differ slightly between countries, there are certain requirements that remain consistent.
