Singapore, 23 June, 2015 – Singtel and Standard Chartered Bank’s award-winning mobile money service, Dash, celebrates its first birthday with the addition of Dash Pay to its suite of mobile money solutions.
Dash Pay is a basic mobile wallet that allows customers to pay businesses securely regardless of the customers’ telco or banking relationship.
Ms Gan Siok Hoon, VP, mCommerce, Consumer Singapore, Singtel said, “Dash aims to fulfill the lifestyle needs and habits of the mobile internet generation and consumers who are used to accessing information anytime, anywhere. With Dash Pay, we have made it even simpler for customers to sign up and make payments on the go.”
Dash Pay is available to all Singapore residents and requires only minutes to register. Dash Pay customers can top up their mobile wallets through a variety of convenient top-up options[1], including charging to their Singtel postpaid bill, topping up at AXS machines and 7-Eleven. With over 20,000 acceptance points island-wide, Dash customers need only reach for their mobile phones to pay for anything from lunch to a taxi ride home.
“Dash has the largest mobile payment merchant network in Singapore. We are growing it into an even more vibrant mobile commerce community. We are enabling customers to securely pay eCommerce merchants and make donations to charitable organisations. We are also partnering transit operators to create a delightful and ubiquitous mobile payment experience for our customers,” added Ms Gan.
Ms Sandhya Devanathan, Head, Retail Products, Standard Chartered Bank Singapore, said, “We are focused on investing in and upgrading our digital platforms to be intuitive and user friendly for our customers. Dash Pay can be seamlessly connected to a Dash Easy savings account for customers who prefer to enjoy the convenience of topping up the mobile wallet on the go. Customers get to enjoy an attractive base interest rate of 0.5% per annum on their money in the Dash Easy savings account with no minimum or maximum cap on balances and no fall-below fee. This is an example of how we constantly innovate and enhance our products and services to bring better experiences and greater value to our customers.”
An easier and safer way to pay
To make the mobile commerce experience even more seamless, the Dash app has been updated with new features. Customers with iPhones[2] can easily login to their Dash app using Touch ID authentication. Customers will also enjoy peace of mind knowing that Dash is powered by Singtel’s mobile payment platform which is backed by a robust banking network.
Dash Birthday Treats
From now until 31 July 2015, Dash is giving out Dash Birthday Treats to new and existing customers.
New customers who sign up for Dash will receive a S$5 Welcome Bonus in their accounts to use instantly. All Dash customers will earn rebates of up to 5 percent every time they use their mobile wallet at Watsons, Food Republic, TopShop and all other Dash merchants[3]. The same rebates apply when they use Dash in Comfort DelGro taxis. Unlike other cashless payment methods, Dash can be used in taxis without the usual administrative fees.
