Chia Wee Boon to helm NCS from 1 July 2010
Singapore, 16 June 2010 – Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) today announced that Mr Lim Eng, CEO of NCS, will be retiring from the company after 30 years of service. His last day of service will be 14 July 2010.
Singtel has appointed Mr Chia Wee Boon, currently COO of NCS, to the position of CEO.
Mr Lim, 54, joined Singtel in 1980 as an engineer and has held several key management positions, including Group Director (Human Resource), VP (Corporate Products) and CEO (General Business). He has also contributed in Singtel’s overseas ventures as President of New Century InfoComm Co Ltd (NCIC Taiwan) and COO of Fax International, USA.
As CEO of NCS, Mr Lim led the company’s growth both in revenue as well as market share. Today, NCS generates in excess of a billion dollars in annual revenues and also tops the Singapore IT services market in terms of market share, ahead of global giant players. In addition, he played a key role in the acquisition and integration of SCS Computer Systems.
Mr Lim said: “The 30 years of service I have spent at Singtel have been challenging and rewarding. It is most gratifying to have been able to contribute to the growth and transformation of NCS during my tenure. I wish Wee Boon every success in his new role.”

Mr Chia Wee Boon, 52, has been with NCS since June 2009. Prior to joining Singtel, he spent more than 25 years with Hewlett Packard. With his extensive experience in the global infocommunications technology (ICT) market, Mr Chia will provide strong leadership to NCS and bring it to even greater heights. He commences as CEO of NCS on 1 July 2010.
