Customers need not pay a cent till August next year
Singapore, 6 November, 2009 - Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) announced today that it is offering two Early Bird specials to sports fans who sign up for the Barclays Premier League 2010/11 and the ESPN STAR Sports suite of channels, or the standalone Barclays Premier League 2010/11 matches.
For a limited period starting tomorrow, customers who sign up for either the Barclays Premier League 2010/11 season or Barclays Premier League 2010/11 with ESPN Star Sports Channels on a 12-month subscription basis will receive the Football Frenzy Pack (worth $15.90 per month) absolutely free till 31 July 2010.
This lets them view all the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League matches - both 'live' and demand - over TV, mobile phone and online, as well as the Italian Serie A (09/10 season) matches on mio TV .
Additionally, they will receive a free 30-day preview of all mio TV programmes (excluding movies and video-on-demand content), free installation, a high-definition set-top box and an ADSL2+ modem.
Customers who sign up for the sports pack will also gain access to ESPN Star Sports channels - ESPN, STAR Sports and ESPNEWS as and when they become available.
"We are excited about welcoming our new customers to mio TV and are very pleased to extend this offer to them," said Mr Tim Carmichael, Vice President of Pay TV.
"There is no reason to wait - this gives fans the opportunity to experience mio TV without having to pay a cent until the new season!"
Customers who sign up for the Barclays Premier League 2010/11 or sports pack on top of a new 10Mbps and 15Mbps mio Home contract will also receive an additional 10 per cent discount off all mio TV content (including the sports packs), as well as two months off their mio Home subscription.
The Barclays Premier League 2010/11 season is priced at $24.61 per month (including GST) and the Barclays Premier League 2010/11 with ESPN Star Sports Channels costs $26.75 per month, but customers will not be billed for their sports content until August 2010.
Existing Football Frenzy customers can also upgrade their subscription in order to enjoy the offers.
Singtel's pricing philosophy for mio TV is based on customers paying only for programmes that they want to watch.
Customers have complete flexibility and choice as there is no basic package that customers must take up before they are able to access the sports content.
mio Home is a bundled service plan comprising mio TV, SingNet Broadband and Singtel Home Line at a fixed monthly price.
Customers enjoy exclusive benefits including mobile multi-line discounts of up to 30 per cent and a 10 per cent discount on mio TV content charges.
