mio TV secures broadcast rights to the 2012 FA Community Shield

Singapore, 10 August 2012 - Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) today announced that its mio TV service has secured the broadcast rights for the 2012 FA Community Shield.

The match, which will be held on Sunday, 12 August at Villa Park in Birmingham, will be contested by the 2012 FA Cup winners Chelsea and the 2011-2012 Premier League champions, Manchester City.

“Our mio TV team worked hard till the eleventh hour to secure this popular BPL curtain-raiser and start the exciting new football season off on the right foot,” said Mr Goh Seow Eng, Managing Director of Television, Singtel Group Digital L!fe. “We recognise how important this match is for Singapore fans.”

“Our customers have been enjoying the excitement of the Olympics on mio TV’s 15 Olympic channels, which are available for free viewing.  We are now delighted to screen this year’s Community Shield at no extra charge to all mio TV Sports Pack customers,” he said.

The 2012 FA Community Shield will be shown live in HD at 8.30pm on 12 August on mio Stadium Channel 102.
