Singapore, 18 September, 2012 – Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (Singtel) today announced that its mio TV service has secured the broadcast rights for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) and the UEFA Europa League (UEL), Europe’s premier football competitions.

The UCL match broadcast will start with the first round of UEFA Champions League Group matches on the new mio Sports channels. Fans can look forward to matches between the top football clubs in Europe including the clash between Real Madrid and Manchester City at 2.45am on 19 September.

mio TV’s coverage of the Europa League will start with the first round of Group matches on 20 September. This year, all UCL and UEL matches will be available in HD from the start of the competition.

The UEFA Champions League and the Europa League are some of the most popular sporting events around the world and we recognise how important these matches are to our customers.” 

mio Sports 1, 2 and 3 (Channel 111 to 113) feature the biggest football competitions and leagues, including the Italian Serie A, English FA Cup, Npower Championship and English League Cup or Capital One Cup (formerly known as the Carling Cup) and French Ligue 1. The channel also features England and Italy International Home Games.

All mio Stadium and Sports Pack customers can enjoy the mio Sports channels for free till 31 October.
