SingNet and Microsoft unveil Hosted BizExchange solution
Powerful solution boosts business productivity and enables mobility
Singapore, 25 October 2007 – SingNet, Singapore’s leading Internet Service Provider (ISP) and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singtel, today announced its collaboration with Microsoft to launch SingNet Hosted BizExchange service.
Available to business customers from today, this is a hosted messaging and collaboration solution that is powered by the Microsoft Exchange platform. For a monthly fee, users will enjoy all the rich features and functions of a Microsoft Exchange mail system, including the widely-used Microsoft Outlook application.
Ms Chan Yim Leng, Singtel's Vice President of Business Products, said: “SingNet Hosted BizExchange service is ideal for customers who wish to avoid upfront investments in email servers and outsource the complexity of email server operations. The infrastructure is hosted with and managed by SingNet, which allows customers to focus their time and resources on their core business activities.
Customers can expect to save up to 50 per cent on total cost of ownership as compared to an in-house deployed push-mail enabled email system, and at the same time enjoy the latest features that Microsoft and SingNet can offer with service upgrades.”
One of the key features of the solution is that it is push-mail enabled. This provides customers on the move with the ability to access email remotely from any location via a mobile device. Users have the flexibility to access email via a computer connected to the Internet using a web browser, or through the Microsoft Outlook client. The service boosts business productivity as it allows users to view up-to-date information and communicate with co-workers more effectively through shared calendars, folders and contact lists. This service will also be available on a range of phones powered by Windows Mobile. Users enjoy a superior mobile computing experience because of the familiar look and feel of their desktop applications on their mobile device.
Business continuity will not be compromised, as the service offers automatic back-up to prevent data loss resulting from system failure, as well as protection from security threats posed by spam and viruses.
