New BlackBerry 8700g™ launched in Singapore
Singapore, 28 February 2006 – Singtel today announced that from tomorrow, all its corporate BlackBerry subscribers who roam on its partners’ networks* will enjoy discounts of at least 20 per cent on roaming BlackBerry data traffic when using applications such as email and calendar.
The new preferential roaming rates are introduced in conjunction with the launch of the BlackBerry 8700g™ in Singapore.
Mr Thomas Yeo, Singtel’s Vice-President of Consumer Marketing, said: “Email has become an integral part of the business world today. Businessmen and road warriors need to access their email on the move – not just in Singapore but also when they are travelling overseas.
“Singtel’s unparalleled local coverage, as well as international mobile data coverage to about 200 global roaming networks, will enable our BlackBerry customers to remain on top of things no matter where they are, without having to worry about email access on their wireless handsets.”
Mr Yeo added:
“Unlike most operators, Singtel is able to bring more value to customers through collaborating with our regional associates and Bridge Mobile Alliance partners. Singtel is making ownership of BlackBerry even more cost effective as our customers can enjoy savings of at least 20 per cent off the listed roaming data price on our partners’ networks.”
For example, heavy users who access 5Mb of BlackBerry email data on Singtel partners’ networks over a one-month period can save about $20 on their BlackBerry roaming bill.
