Singapore, 11 November, 2013 – Singtel is contributing over 1.7 million Pesos (S$50,000) towards relief efforts for Typhoon Haiyan victims.
In addition, Singtel launched an internal donation drive to encourage its staff in Singapore and Australia to contribute to the recovery efforts.
Mr Andrew Buay, VP, Group Corporate Social Responsibility at Singtel, said: “Our hearts go to the many people affected by Typhoon Haiyan. The storm may have passed but the real challenge has only just begun. Together with Globe Telecom, our regional mobile associate in the Philippines, we hope our support can play a part in the relief and recovery plans.”
Singtel’s contributions will be channelled through Globe Bridging Communities, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme of Globe Telecom. The donation will be used to provide immediate relief items and necessities to the provinces affected by the typhoon.
