Singapore, 15 May 2008 -- Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) today announced that it would donate S$200,000 to help China’s relief and reconstruction efforts after the earthquake in the Sichuan province this week.
Singtel, through its wholly owned subsidiary NCS which has operations in Chengdu, will work with the local authorities to help families and those affected by the earthquake.
Ms Chua Sock Koong, Singtel Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “On behalf of the Singtel Group, I extend my sympathies to the victims and their families. We would like to do our part by assisting them.”
Singtel and NCS have over 1,000 employees working in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou andGuangzhou. NCS has about 300 employees working in Chengdu.
