Singtel mio TV brings the best of Malay entertainment to Singapore audience

Astro ARUNA will feature popular Indonesian dramas including Perempuan, a hit series about a group of sassy, modern women and their trials and tribulations, and Tersanjung, Indonesia’s longest-running series

Singapore, 30 September 2008 – Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) today announced the launch of a new Malay language channel - Astro ARUNA - which will premiere on mio TV (Channel 35) on 6 October 2008.

The new channel is a 24-hour channel that will feature the best of Indonesian dramas featuring popular actors such as Ari Wibowo, Lulu Tobing, Lenna Tan, Alexandra Gottardo and Anjasmara. These dramas are telecast immediately after production and are first run premieres on the channel in Singapore. Astro ARUNA will provide the Malay community in Singapore with a great new alternative for Malay content. mio TV subscribers can preview the channel in October on mio TV’s preview channel - Channel 0.

Fans of Indonesian content can look forward to highly popular dramas such as Wah Cantiknya 2, Perempuan, Tersanjung and Akibat Banyak Gaul.

Customers who sign up with Astro ARUNA before 31 October will be able to enjoy additional 2 months’ FREE subscription.

Subscribers will also stand a chance to win exclusive concert tickets worth $120 each, to award-winning Malaysian singer Anuar Zain’s first-ever concert performance on 8 November at the Esplanade Concert Hall.

Subscription fee for the channel is $10.70/month or $8.56 on a 12-monthly basis.

Roman Picisan
Premiering on 13 October as well, at 8.00pm, Roman Picisan is a 20 part drama about the love story of a teen girl and her driver. She comes from a rich family and falls for the handsome new driver and as love blossoms, they discover love is not easy. Cast features Evan Sanders and Nikita Willy.

Mewarnai Langit

Can love at first sight turn into ever lasting love? Bisma and Luna are about to find out how destructive and obsessive love can mature into true love. Bisma the grandson of the owner of Sky Airways, Arif Budiman, falls in love with Luna, an airhostess. It is love at first sight for Bisma but Luna marries Rama, who, unknown to her, is Bisma’s brother. The truth when discovered destroys the family and it’s now up to Bisma and Luna to bring the family together.

This 20-part drama stars Restu Sinaga, Fanny Fabriana and premieres on 7 October at 1pm.

Wah Cantiknya 2
Cecep feels lonely after Kartika goes abroad. Luckily, there’s a beautiful nurse who is kind enough to help him through the days. Cecep’s innocence eventually melts her heart too.

This 34-part drama stars Anjasmara, Bella Saphira, Nani Wijaya and premieres on 15 October, 6pm.
