Named one of ASEAN’s Top 5 Publicly Listed Companies for the second year
Singapore, 3 December 2018 – Singtel has won three awards at the 2nd ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards – ASEAN’s Top 5 and Top 50 Publicly Listed Companies, and Singapore’s Top 3 Publicly Listed Companies – for exemplary corporate governance. This is the second year that Singtel was recognised at the Awards.
Ms Chua Sock Koong, Singtel Group CEO, said, “We are honoured to be recognised as one of the best companies in corporate governance in the region. Good governance is fundamental for long-term business sustainability and value creation for our stakeholders. We are committed to maintaining the highest of standards and we will continue to improve our policies and processes to go beyond what is prescribed.”
The Awards acknowledge Singtel’s commitment to excellence in corporate governance based on extensive assessment using the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard, which benchmarks ASEAN companies against international best practices on corporate governance.
The event was launched in 2015 by the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum with the support of the Asian Development Bank to establish a common governance framework across the region and to raise the profile of ASEAN publicly listed companies among the global investment community. It was organised this year by Malaysia’s Minority Shareholders Watch Group.
