Singapore, 13 February, 2017 – Singtel TV’s popular Hokkien and Chinese channel, Jia Le 「佳乐台」, is the number one prime time pay TV channel [1] in Singapore, according to IMDA’s Singapore Television Audience Measurement (SG-TAM) system. SG-TAM is the official source of television audience measurement in Singapore that captures viewership data across traditional and digital platforms to deliver valuable insights.
SG-TAM’s ratings show that Jia Le Channel had a 21% margin over its nearest competitor on the pay TV platform during prime time (7pm – 12 midnight), for the period of October to December 2016. Jia Le Channel viewers spent an average of 72 minutes daily on the channel, second only to terrestrial television Channel 8.

Jia Le Channel offers top-rated dramas and variety shows from Taiwan and China. It is also the only pay TV linear channel in Singapore that broadcasts Hokkien programmes. Some of the programmes include long-running Taiwanese Hokkien drama Taste of Life 「甘味人生」, Hokkien variety programmes such as Super Nightclub 「超级夜总会」, Top Singers 「超級紅人榜」and The Voice Of Taiwan 「台湾好歌声」.
In the next few months, viewers can look forward to more exciting programmes, including big-budget productions and variety shows. These include, Chinese web dramas such as When A Snail Falls In Love 「如果蜗牛有爱情」 and Candle In The Tomb 「鬼吹灯之精绝古城」, which garnered billions of views, and Q-Series 「植剧场」– a high quality Taiwanese drama series consisting of eight different stories helmed by an award-winning team that comprises directors such as Wang Shaudi, Qu You Ning, Tsai Ming Liang and Best Actors, Wu Kang Ren, Lan Zheng Long and Best Actress Rainie Yang.
