Singapore, 29 September 2010 – Singtel today announced that Uday Joshi, former ESPN Star Sports presenter and one of Asia’s most recognisable television personalities, has come on board football channel mio Stadium as the new face of the UEFA League series. Joshi will present the preview, live games, and review shows for the highly-anticipated matches in the Europa League, sharing his deep knowledge and passion for the sport with fans.
Over the course of his 15-year television career, Joshi honed his skills in front of the camera at ESPN Star Sports and CNBC Asia Pacific, establishing himself as a talented presenter and producer. He was responsible for introducing sports programming into CNBC’s line up, which until then had comprised business content. At both CNBC and ESPN Star Sports, Joshi produced and anchored an extensive range of sporting shows including SportsCenter, ESPN’s popular nightly news bulletin.
“Uday Joshi’s extensive experience and ability to connect with audiences has made him a respected television personality in the region, and we are very pleased to welcome him to the mio Stadium family,” said Edward Ying, Chief, Content & Media Services, Singtel. “Our commitment to providing a world-class football experience means we are continually improving our offerings, an important part of which is building up a team of the best hosts in the industry.”
Joshi is the sixth addition to mio Stadium’s (channels 102 to 110) impressive line up of top international and local names comprising John Dykes, Patrick Kinghorn, Dominic Lau, Soo Kui Jien, and Melody Chen. Together, they bring mio Stadium viewers informed and exclusive coverage of the 2010/11 Barclays Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
