This is a watercolour exercise in colour layering and I have chosen to depict four butterfly species with different wing patterns. The orange and white butterflies stand out from the background while the green butterflies blend in with the foliage. The overlapping of the many wings evokes the scene of a myriad of butterflies in flight.
