Ang Ah Tee ｜ 洪亚弟 (b. 1943, Singapore) paints in watercolour, oil and acrylic. He was initially recognised for his works of Singapore scenes such as the Singapore River and Chinatown, and later, for his vibrant representations of landscapes and cultures inspired by his extensive travels. In the 2000s, he began semi-abstract works using palette knife and brushstrokes in a Chinese painting fashion, thus combining Western and Eastern techniques and sensibilities.

Ang was formally trained at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in the early 1960s, where he studied under Cheong Soo Pieng and Georgette Chen, both pioneer artists of the Nanyang style. He graduated from the Academy in 1962 and entered full-time art practice in 1977.

Ang is a recipient of the Singapore Cultural Medallion in 2009. He has exhibited in Southeast Asia, China, Taiwan, the Middle East, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. In addition to the Singtel Collection, Ang’s works have been collected by the Singapore Maritime Museum, the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, the National University of Singapore, and the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay.
