Lew Bee Kuan | 廖美娟 (b. 1971, Singapore) graduated from LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts in 1995 with a Diploma in Graphic Design. In the same year, she went on to win the First Prize in Singapore Telecom’s Expressions in Art competition. Lew’s other awards and accolades include winning the Highly Commended award in the 15th and 21st UOB Painting of the Year Competition in 1996 and 2003, the Highly Commended award in the 3rd Defence Art Competition (1996) organised by the Ministry of Defence, the Merit award in the Singapore Urban Art Competition (1997) by PARCO, as well as distinction awards in 2001 and 2004 at the Dr Tan Tsze Chor Art Competition by the Singapore Art Society.
Lew Bee Kuan’s work has been shown in many group exhibitions in Singapore. She has also exhibited in Japan. These exhibitions include Singapore Telecom’s Expressions in Art (1995), the Philip Morris Group of Companies ASEAN Art Exhibition (1995), the Urban Art Competition Exhibition by PARCO in Singapore and Japan (1997), the Nokia Singapore Art Exhibition (1999), numerous Singapore Art Society Exhibitions (2000-2013) and the UOB Painting of the Year Exhibition in 1996 and 2003.
Lew Bee Kuan’s work is in the collections of Singtel, the Land Transport Authority and the Ministry of Defence, Singapore.
