Lester Lee Ngai Sing | 李艺声 (b. 1964, Singapore) is a contemporary mixed media artist based in Singapore. Lee holds a Master of Arts (Contemporary Practice) from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom. As a young artist, Lee had trained under two renowned watercolourists Ong Kim Seng and Peh Eng Seng in the late 1980s. He then attended the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (1989) before going to live in the United States of America for 10 years where he advanced his interest in multi-disciplinary art forms including sculptures. Lee won the Outstanding Artist Award in 1989 from the Ministry of Communications and Information. He has also participated in the UOB Painting of the Year competition where he received the Highly Commended award and the Gold Award for an established artist in 2011 and 2013 respectively.
Lee’s work has shown both in solo and group exhibitions in the United States of America and Singapore. His solo exhibitions include “…” (2000) at the Raw Gallery in Seattle, United States of America and Now (2014) at the UOB Art Gallery in Singapore.
Lester Lee’s work is in the collections of Singtel, UOB, the Ministry of Communications and Information and in numerous private collections in the United States and Singapore.
