Lim Tiong Ghee | 林忠义 (b. 1955, Singapore) works in collage and mixed media. His style is abstracted and two-dimensional with colour being used sparingly. 

Lim is a self-taught artist other than studying art for the GCE ‘A’ Levels. He started to explore painting in depth after he entered National Service at 19. His work as a senior graphic artist at the then Singapore Broadcasting Corporation deepened his interest in art. He became a full-time artist in 1996.

Lim has won several awards for his work. These include the Special Award of the National Art Exhibition (1978), and the first prize and top award in the UOB Painting of the Year in 1984 and 1989 respectively.

Lim’s work has been exhibited in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Europe and the United States of America. Lim’s solo exhibitions include the National Museum Art Gallery (1981) and the Empress Place Museum (1990). His group exhibitions include Two Man Show (1986), New Direction ’87 (1987) and Centenary Art Exhibition (1987) at the National Museum Art Gallery.

Lim’s works have been collected by Singtel, the Singapore Art Museum, the Istana, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Economic Development Board and Singapore Airlines.
