Tey Su Gurn | 非会员 (b. 1974, Singapore) is a mixed media artist who is known for her use of different types of paper and materials in rendering her art pieces. She draws inspiration for her work from her memories and travel memoirs. Tey creates many of her pieces through spontaneous and impromptu application of material on canvas based on what she feels at the time.
Tey Su Gurn attended the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts from 1993 to 1996 with a Major in Western Art and a Minor in Ceramics. Tey Su Gurn’s awards and accolades include the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Open House Award with Distinction for Oil Painting and Singapore Telecom’s Expressions in Art Merit Award in both 1995 and 1997.
Tey Su Gurn’s work has been exhibited in Singapore, most recently at the Breath the Art Exhibition in 2003 and the Clay and Sound Exhibition at the Chapel Gallery, Sculpture Square in 2011. Before that, her work was shown at the French Festival Exhibition (1995) and Singapore Telecom’s Expressions in Art Exhibition (1995 and 1997). Tey’s work is in the collection of Singtel.
