Our Religion by Tey Su Gurn is a work which won the Singapore Telecom's Expressions in Art 1995 merit award. The abstract collage uses colours and textured papers from local Chinese culture, including joss papers with goldleaf. The composition appears to be laid out spontaneously. In this youthful piece, Tey follows the convention of composing the collage with local found materials that was begun by Goh Beng Kwan in the 1970s. Other artists have followed in Goh's footsteps including Lim Leong Seng and Tan Chin Chin.
