A quantum-safe network is a communication network designed for security against potential threats from quantum computers. These threats refer to the risks posed by a quantum computer’s ability to break commonly used encryption algorithms which would be catastrophic for our digital economy.
Quantum-safe networks circumvent such threats by ensuring the secrecy of encryption keys and using cryptographic techniques that are resistant to quantum attacks, such as quantum key distribution and post-quantum cryptography.
Singtel is partnering Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet to enhance its suite of quantum-safe solutions.
Together, these partnerships will ensure that encryption keys remain secure across diverse applications, creating a more resilient defence for enterprises against cyber threats.
Singtel and OCBC are leading efforts to establish a robust foundation for secure banking in the future by using Quantum Key Distribution on Singtel's Quantum-Safe Network, supporting Singapore's broader quantum ecosystem.
Singtel was appointed by the Infocomm Media Development Authority last year to develop Singapore’s first NQSN+ to fortify Singapore’s resilience against quantum threats in the next decade.
To guide and support enterprises at every step – ensuring risk-free and seamless integration of new quantum-safe technologies throughout their adoption journey – we have launched a three-phase pilot programme that includes:
We will also work closely with enterprises to develop tailored quantum-safe use cases for their industries.
As we integrate ID Quantique's Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technology through the Clarion KX platform into our network infrastructure, enterprises can now benefit from a range of quantum-safe managed services with less complexities. These services cater to various sectors that prioritise data security, such as finance, healthcare, government, and more.
BASED ON QUANTUM-SAFE KEYS
Quantum Key as-a-Service gives you full control of your enterprise's encryption keys with comprehensive support including monitoring, incident and change management.
BASED ON QUANTUM-SAFE BANDWIDTH
Quantum-Safe Domestic Networks enables us to provide quantum-safe bandwidth to your enterprise with ease. All you have to do is check a box when ordering bandwidth and request for quantum-safe assurance thereafter.
Security in a post-quantum era
Singtel QSN is built with quantum key distribution (QKD), which is based on the laws of quantum physics that current or future mathematical algorithms cannot break, making it inherently secure.Secure key and data exchanges
QKD does not rely on any public key infrastructure (PKI), which can be vulnerable to attacks and difficult to manage.Island-wide coverage using Singtel fibre
Deploying QKD over Singtel’s extensive fibre network means customers get to leverage quantum-safe networks across the whole of Singapore.Integration with Singtel’s domestic networks
Our solution is ready to integrate with encryption devices on OSI Layers 1, 2 and 3, as well as MPLS. This means enterprises can easily deploy quantum-safe networks over their existing data networks.
