Fiber Optics Installation and Maintenance Course

The Telecommunications (Wiring Work) Regulations 2024 will be enforced as the optical fibre cables are replacing the copper cables as the main telecommunication wiring in homes.

Installers who wish to provide installation service for optical fibre cables after effective of the new Regulations will need to complete an optical fibre course conducted by IMDA accredited institutions.

Singtel, as a leading communications and digital services provider is accredited to conduct the course. In this course, participants will learn the fundamentals of Optical Fibre Communication, installations and functional test of optical fibre cables and observe safety precautions during installation and maintenance.

Participants will have practical hands-on experience on the types of tools, equipment, testers and a visit to a live Fibre Infrastructure to appreciate Fibre racks, splicing trays, outdoor and indoor cases.
